German national disco-dance champion in 1978 at the age of 15, Marco Berrettini trained as a dancer at the London School of Contemporary Dance and at the Folkwangschulen in Essen with Pina Bausch, studying theatre sciences, European ethnology and cultural anthropology. A bold artist, defying rules and conventions, he is an asserter of a ‘dance for everyone’, far from the codes of academic dancing. Danae Festival will premiere his latest creation, iFeel4, an attempt at Sufi-Disco dance, in a scene where the audience will be placed straight on the stage, without the usual separation, around the choreographer-performer who, with a continuous and hypnotic “funky” pelvic movement, will guide them through a psycho-physical crescendo to an ascetic movement experience.
For this creation, Marco Berrettini turnes to solo and resumes working on continuous movement. He collaborates again with Samuel Pajand for the musical composition of this piece for which a chorus of children is formed in each of the host cities.
