A kid holding a mirror goes to last war against <post war Japan>
Masaki Iwana, dancer, choreographer and movie director, is considered one the greatest Butoh dance performers in Japan and worldwide. On stage since the mid 1970’s, in his career he has created more than 150 performances deeply built on his aesthetics, not centred on dancers and their technique, but on their transformation into something else, on the act of metamorphosis. Founder and director of the France based institute La Maison du Butoh Blanc for the research on the Butoh dance and educator of various generations of both Italian and foreign choreographers, actors, and dancers, Masaki Iwana will present a site-specific work in the atmospheric premises of Fondazione Mudima, as well as a five-day workshop.
