Danae Festival hosts once again a trailblazer of experimental theatre, and particularly the poetic voice of Mariangela Gualtieri, whose strength lies not only in the written words but also in the way she utters them, a “sound rite” conveying the oral/aural energy of the verse. Porpora springs from the urgence to sing the colours, celebrating them as powers, acoustic forces, a poem written in a dialogue with the score composed and the piano played by Stefano Battaglia, composer and improviser. One lingers in those auditory acrobatics that bring the world inside, to the bottom. That bring the inside to the world, to its edge, where space and time cower and allow a fleeting comprehension of what poetry, music and silence eventually lead to.

A dialogue – inspired by the play “Porpora” presented at Danae Festival – on poetry, music and silence between Stefano Battaglia, pianist, composer and improviser, and Mariangela Gualtieri, poet and dramatist. A “sound rite for sky and earth” born of an instinctive artistic affinity that has led to a fruitful common work.
