Silvia Gribaudi, winner of the Premio Giovane Danza d’Autore Veneto 2009, Premio del pubblico Giovane Danza d’Autore Veneto 2009, Aerowaves-Dance Across Europe 2010 and Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2012, after her one-woman show in last year’s edition, is back to Danae with a work where she plays with the body’s joyful fluidity to take an ironic look at the female condition. The goal of this short, 15-minute performance is to explore a moment of inadequacy, omnipotence but mainly of acceptance. A dancing body taking up full and empty spaces, in a dialogue with its curves and its “fleshy parts”. A corpo libero deals with transformation, with the time of a changing femininity and examines the time of the action as it relates to the audience.

A Corpo Libero is a glorious and life affirming piece; short in length but big in heart. Everything is pitch perfect – lighting, sound, staging and choreography. A joy and a gem.

Gribaudi is endowed with generous curves, a piquant sense of humour, great comic timing and an adorable willingness to throw caution (and the teensy, stretchy frock that causes her so much embarrassment) to the wind.

A Corpo Libero is a unique antidote to the omnipresent youth glamour market, and Gribaudi is hilarious, self- aware, and all-woman.”
