Clara Delorme is an emergent artist who completed her education in Lausanne in 2017. She danced for various companies, including Yasmine Hugonnet’s, and then started her own artistic research. At Danae she presents two creations: Malgrés and L’albâtre.

Malgrés pays homage to our flaws and the minor failures of existence. The final “s” in the title is not a typo but a hint at Delorme’s dyslexia and the many rejection letters that she received in the past and often began with: “malgré (despite) the quality of your work, we are sorry to…”. In this piece the young artist is accompanied on stage by the musician Christian Garcia-Gaucher, taking us into a colourful variety ruled by deformity. Playing with immobility, her dance invites us to let ourselves go, to accept errors and imperfections.

L’albâtre
Clara Delorme
Flesh is the main medium of this project.
A white body on a white square. Here the corporeal research develops through a work on apnoea and immobility, as well as on details. The artist invites us to examine the nature of the strange creature she embodies, alternatively an inanimate being, an animal or a human being. An allegory of mourning in the animal world.

Clara Delorme (1997) came in Lausanne for the Compagnie Junior Le Marchepied in Lausanne, where she obtained her certificate in July 2017. That same year she joined the Compagnie Alias for the creation of Contre-Mondes, and since then she has danced for, Yasmine Hugonnet, Mark Lorimer, Nicole Seiler, Yann Hermenjat, among others.
Since 2019 she has been an associate artist at the Theater Sévelin 36 in Lausanne, where she develops her work around monochromes. She created L’albâtre (white) in 2019 and Malgrés (green) in 2021. In 2022 she co-created with Baptiste Cazaux, Grimaces, a show for children from 5 to 7 years old and C’est l’enfer! a show for and with an adapted class of young people aged 16 to 21 from L’ELAN, the play was performed in June 2022 at the Theater Sévelin 36 in Lausanne. She is working as a dramaturge/collaborator Élie Autin, David Zagari and others.
In 2020, Clara co-founded Arts_Sainement with Claire Dessimoz and Louis Bonard, a French-speaking group for reflection and action on well-being at work, which now has more than a dozen active members. In 2022, she co-founded LIEU COMMUN, an artistic research residency in Lausanne.
